AVENUE MONTAIGNE

Avenue Montaigne was produced during the Paris lockdown of 2020. Each day, MarieVic met her mother Geneviève during the one hour of outdoor movement authorized at the time.

They greeted each other from a distance along the legendary Avenue Montaigne, posing in front of the ghostly façades of the fashion houses.

Each day they appeared in a different look, turning the empty avenue into a stage where fashion became a way of addressing one another across the distance.

Avenue Montaigne s an exercise in style: the story does not change, two beings present themselves to each other. Every day an image, every day a new skin. The ever-changing but constant expression of a desire to be together. The series reflects on clothing as a social gesture and on the fragile choreography of proximity and distance.
