I went to the American Far North looking for a bear. I brought Alaïa garments with me and staged them within a bare environment of ice, animals, and tools. Removed from the protected space of display, they appear suspended between preservation and decay.
In the cold, fashion enters a state of arrested transformation, becoming at once sculpture, fossil, and apparition.
Bear was created in the context of a Carte Blanche project initiated by Alaïa in 2021.
