Photographed from the bottom of swimming pools across the United States, consumer objects and suburban signs hover above the waterline like relics of an American mirage.
During a cross-country journey from New York to Los Angeles, each pool becomes a temporary stage where fragments of American culture drift across the surface—plastic toys, luxury goods, patriotic symbols, and everyday debris. Seen from below, these objects appear suspended between sky and water, reality and projection.
From the bottom of the pool, familiar signs of consumption lose their certainty. They drift into view as apparitions: comic, seductive, and faintly ominous.

Pool will be published as a leporello bringing together photographs and short travel-log captions written during the cross-country journey through the United States. Each pool is a temporary observatory from which fragments of American life drift across the surface of the water.
