UNICLONES
Across the Mongolian steppe, cashmere goats and other livestock wander through open landscapes wearing Uniqlo cashmere garments. The project stages an improbable encounter between nomadic pastoral life and the global circulation of fashion.

Filmed as a two-channel video installation, the work documents animals moving through vast pastoral environments while clothed in garments associated with international fast fashion. The images collapse the distance between the origin of raw materials and the global systems that transform them into commodities.

Extracted still images function as photographic residues of the video work, while garment editions extend the circulation of the images back onto human bodies.
